Today’s goal:
1. To identify the challenging aspects that participants encounter when writing project proposal.
2. To draft a future workshop plan.
Key Points Discussed:
1. Challenges in Writing Project Proposals:
Shoma:
・Shared a project proposal format she recently completed, provided by an international funding agency.
・ Explained the contents of the form and her dissatisfaction with it.
・ Noted that pre-designed proposal formats often lack sufficient space for detailed information, necessitating summarization skills.
・ Mentioned the limited space for describing the linkage between objectives and activities, questioning the proposal’s relevance and appeal.
・ Expressed difficulties in selecting appropriate, scientific, and standard language that aligns with global development trends when formulating proposals.
Modon expressed his challenges in aligning project goals, outcomes, and outputs, and preparing a realistic, logical, and quality results matrix.
Shilpi mentioned difficulties in identifying target beneficiaries and prioritizing activities when writing proposals for low-budget schemes.
Itrat and Swapnil expressed the challenges in accurately predicting feasible results from activities.
2. Discussion on Future Learning Needs:
Participants discussed what they need to learn to enhance their proposal writing skills in future workshops, and then concluded to focus on how to develop an appropriate results matrix in the next workshop.
